Shhhhh Clare .....

I’ve developed an uncanny knack of disturbing the congregation at Morning Worship. In the first week, I hadn’t realised someone had started the prayers and there I was having a good rummage in my rustly plastic bags. This week, I burst out laughing in the middle of the Principal’s talk, when everyone else was nice and quiet. He was talking about shepherds and sheep and said that even though he hadn’t seen many of these ‘sheeps’ in Malawi, in Britain there were many. He looked in our direction as he said this, I suppose for us to acknowledge that the UK does indeed have a healthy sheep population, and after I’d nodded, I drifted off momentarily thinking about them all munching grass on the hillsides back home. I tuned back in to hear him saying that ‘these sheeps are shaved for their furs’… I quite forgot where I was and I suddenly had all these images of sheep and razors, and a little giggle slipped out! I heard a quick, ‘Shhh’ from Ali - I don’t think everyone heard but it was quite loud – opps!
