Put your pens down please....

We wrote an exam paper on First Aid and Nursing, then we marked it and it was very, very funny!! I know it’s a bit naughty, but I just have to tell you some of the answers that we got…

On A B C…

Airways can only be checked outside and where people are not crowdy

Referral to hospital is urgent because the airway is obstructed by soot

Breathing - difficulty can happen when the throat is broked

On poisons, bites and stings...

Pain, redness and swellings develop because the bee has pierced and leave its teeth there

The management (of a bee sting) is to remove the needle like so that the stung site may not swollen because the toxic has been removed together with the needle like structure

Maintain surroundings as clean to reduce maltiplication of insects

On burns...

The first thing to do is command the person to roll himself on the ground

Wrap the burned in plastic papers

On fractures...

Immobilise the patient to prevent from injuring him/herself but when immobilising you need to take care because you may end up injuring the patient

On epilepsy...

Shout at them to stop it
Pad the head and surface of the patient to protect them from bruising skin

On fires...

Don’t live with anything flammable

On Snakes...

Keep grasses surrounding homes short so it should not be alternate hosts for snakes

Never pick up a snake even if it looks dead until they prove it so

Not to do anything that might interfere with puff adders and find a mechanism of eliminating them

Avoid putting the finger in holes to prevent being bitts

The advice is to swim into water to prevent being bitten when they see these puff adders
