After a nearly a year of talking about it and collecting clothes from here, there and everywhere, we finally held our Charity Jumble Sale.
We enlisted some students as stall holders and they helped us to price everything up – ranging from 30p to a staggering £2 for the most expensive items… sales were slow to begin with but after a good hour of rummaging only a few bits and bobs were left. Surprisingly the gold thread cardigan and the floral polyester 2-piece weren’t snapped up as quick as I thought it might but in the end they went to a very happy agogo.
Next day there were quite a few snazzy outfits wandering about the place – funny seeing familiar things on different people! We made 18,000 kwacha which is about £75, so not the worlds greatest profit but there are lots of happy people out there now and so we’ll do it again when we’ve collected a whole bunch more…all donations gratefully received!!
